Connect wins Best Not for Profit Project award at 2015 Big Chip Awards.
Connect picked up the Best Not for Profit Project award for their work on https://sendirect.org.uk at last night’s Big Chip Awards against a very strong line-up of competing companies.
The Big Chip Awards celebrate digital excellence in the north and recognise the latest and greatest digital talent, experiences and projects. The awards are known for the highest standards of objectivity and integrity and are judged by a distinguished panel of experts from the industry.
Connect’s Joint Managing Director, Carole Boardman said: “We are delighted to have won a Big Chip Award, especially for a project of such importance. It means a lot to Connect to be recognised for good work but the success of the SENDirect project and the positive impacts it will bring is the most important thing.”
The SENDirect website enables health, education and social care information to be accessed by parents and carers of children with special educational needs and disabilities throughout the UK. The site was developed on an Umbraco content management system that also required extensive technical development to incorporate a range of complex features and functionality. The end result is a visually appealing, user friendly website that clearly delighted the Big Chip judging panel.
The Judges said “At a time when services for children with special educational needs and disabilities are becoming harder to find and navigate, this rich, well-designed resource is a model for how to offer advice and support“.
Stephen Cohen, SENDirect’s Web Project Manager said: “We’d like to wish a massive, well-deserved congratulations to Connect for their Big Chip Awards win last night. It’s fantastic news and reflects the quality and level of hard work we’ve all put in, working together over the last year and a half.”
