New website for the Commonwealth Education Hub

Connecting education professionals across the Commonwealth

This week Connect launched a new, content-managed responsive website for The Commonwealth Education Hub.

Connect has a long history of website development for fantastic causes and the Education Hub is no exception. Commissioned by the Commonwealth Secretariat, based in Pall Mall, London, the site has been designed to support the professional education community across the Commonwealth.

The Education Hub aims to:

• Improve primary, secondary, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Commonwealth countries
• promote and sustain high-performing education systems

The Hub does this by focusing on a range of topics, including; quality teaching and learning, teacher development and performance, skills and paths that meet the dynamic needs of learners, global qualification standards, ICT integration in education, training opportunities for economic growth and investment.

The digital solution provided by Connect is a virtual ‘one-stop-shop’ where members can connect with peers in order to communicate, engage and access this comprehensive array of information and services.

Members of the new Education Hub will also have access to:

• A collection service that grants members access to the Community’s virtual knowledge repository, containing curated digital collections of recommended publications, resources and other forms of documented knowledge.
• A collaboration service for members who wish to form smaller groups on joint projects or initiatives.

Connect has also provided password-protected members access to a secure workspace which will also allow members to store and edit version-controlled documents.

The site is powered by WordPress and hosted on Connect’s dedicated ISO27001 servers within our Liverpool data centre.
